Exploring language and communication skill
This is the initial stage in their learning process of language and communication, explores and tries to make sounds, babbles a lot and enjoy making bubbles during drinking water and milk. Babies are capable of learning more than two languages simultaneously. Babies love to laugh and it’s the most wanted for all parents which makes cheerful moments in the sphere. Babies’ chuckles a lot tell those stories with expression and make them giggle at funny sounds and facial expressions that will snatch their attention to you.
Introducing solid food to your sitter
Your baby will be able to sit alone by 6 months and some may shows interest to dine with you and some will stick with their feeding bottle, don’t force them to change their food habit, each baby have their very own development stages and your baby will show the indication to take them to the dining with you, give the food in a easy to pick shape to grab it simply and take it to their mouth. Offer sipper or cup to them in the dining after proper sitting position, start with water because they may not hold the sipper properly and spill some water.
Introduce solid food to your loved one and start with low quantity of food to check the interest in eating, some may look at you while you are eating and eager to know what you are eating and tries to place in their mouth, in that state check for your baby’s intestine health to accept the solids and also baby should know to use the lower lips to pull from spoon.
Careful with what you are giving to your baby and check whether it is allergic to them or not, some food like cereals, rice and mashed fruits and vegetables like banana and carrot are least allergic or not allergic to your baby. Avoid food like berries and egg white which may show some allergy in some children. Babies try to pull out the food, in that condition don’t force them to have it, it may discourage in eating solid food and they will switch back to their bottles.
Some babies are firm with the breast feeding and they don’t want to go for solid food, slowly introduce soft and easily chewable food with breast milk or milk to make them comfortable with the other food.
Babies adore watching their own body movements and delighted to sit in the starting of this stage. To start with support them with pillow and cushion in the sitting position to avoid falling down. Make your home baby proof by taking away the object like coins and small objects that can be easily taken to their mouth or nose in addition to choking hazard and now your baby would have started practicing the pincer movement, using index finger and thumb to pick the objects. Always try to play on floor with your child to make them move and avoid falling from bed or table. Playing in floor motivates your child to move and helps in strengthening of their muscles.
Babies love to explore the things around them, can’t sit in one place for more time and also can’t spend more time with a single toy, give them toys with different shapes, texture and size to know about the different kind of toys and things nearby them. Shape sorters are the best toys to play at this stage. Your baby would have started using his hands for grabbing, shaking and holding the objects. Now they know to lift their arms, like to roll over and sit, learns to use the fingers individually and together to handle and hold things. Your little one is aware of using his thumb with two or three fingers together, grabs object and knows to transfer from one hand to another and hold the objects firmly.
Your baby starts playing with his feet by touching with his hands. Introduce musical toys and soft toys to them. Baby’s eyesight is sharp and improved; they can watch you and learn from your expressions and movements. They need a fifteen hour of sleep per day and have an increase of their weight around 2 pounds.
